Coordinates food service to support all ministries of City on a Hill. Assists Facility Manager & Youth Development Manager by coordinating food service at monthly Health Outreaches, during children & youth programs/events and during Sunday Dinner. Prepares food by utilizing food service volunteers, working with local caterer, youth trainees, and interns. Follows all SafeServe guidelines and ensures all safety guidelines are followed. Provides necessary documentation and paperwork on an on-going basis. *This is a Part-Time, second shift position with the start time being 2pm on most days.
-Coordinates Food Service to Youth, Family & Adult Programs
-Works Youth Program staff to prepare or cater culturally relevant food for Youth & Family Events
-Coordinates Health Outreach meal utilizing lead volunteer, caterer, and assigned volunteers to serve well-balanced meals to guests.
-Trains missions program staff in food service procedures & practices.
-Assist with Tuesday evening & Thursday evening meals, as scheduled
-Works with Resource Coordinator in ordering food from Feeding America.
-Ensures all individuals (youth, guests, volunteers, staff) are properly trained in how to serve food, set-up & clean-up process according to Safe Serve Guidelines.
-Involved in coordinating Culinary Arts classes for youth to that teach youth life skills and how to prepare healthy culturally relevant food for themselves & family, as scheduled.
-Coordinates and communicates (by email & phone) with key volunteers to help prepare & serve food.
-Gathers, completes & ensures proper documentation of meal counts. Submits to Data Coordinator weekly.
-Completes other activities and tasks as assigned
Specialized Know How & Requirements:
-Minimum five years food service experience.
-Must be certified or willing to become Safe Serve Certified
-Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
-Excellent people skills, and the ability to solve practical problems
-Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
-Skills in explaining and applying policies and procedures.
-Ability to perform responsibilities in a self-directed environment.
-Strong organizational skills and ability to recognize areas of improvement and suggest ideas for change.
-Must be able to work at least 2 weekends per month (2nd Saturdays & 4th Sunday) and evenings.
-Must be able to work in a fast-changing environment
-Strong team player with a background in working with a variety of people (different age groups and cultures) in a professional, Christ-like manner.
-Must be able to provide work direction to volunteers who assist with food service duties.
-Proficient with navigating the Internet and utilizing Microsoft Office programs including: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
-Evidence of spiritual maturity, including integrity, humility, and self-discipline.
-Actively involved in a local church.
-Must be able to drive to work-related business outside of the City on a Hill.
-Stands, walks and reaches above the shoulder, as well as bends, twists, throughout shift.
-Must be able to lift, push, and carry various items up to 50 lbs.
-Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
