Van Driver (Part-Time)

Job Description:

Provide transportation for the Youth Center. Guests will be transported from their schools or homes to the teen center, then back home. Driver will also be needed for the occasional special event and field trip.


  • Transport passengers in a safe and timely manner irrespective of weather, traffic, or road conditions.

  • Maintain trip logs, detailing passenger count, route, and mileage.

  • Document fuel intakes and maintenance issues.

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any vehicle problems to the Executive Director.

  • Efficiently use GPS or/and read and interpret road maps.

  • Attend to cleaning/minor repairs of vehicle(s).

  • Organize and schedule transportation, including drivers and van maintenance.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Youth Center Manager.


  • Demonstration of good interpersonal skills including the ability to get along with individuals of all backgrounds.

  • Strong desire to help those in need.

  • The ability to remain calm and controlled when driving under all circumstances.

  • Must possess a driver’s license & have clean driving record
  • Experience in nonprofit, social service or para-church organizations, or churches
  • Cross-cultural experience
  • Availability during evenings and some weekends.

Other Info:

  • Driver must possess a valid Wisconsin Drivers’ License and a good driving record; High School diploma or equivalent; and good interpersonal skills.
  • Driver must be open to random tests that check for drug abuse and alcohol consumption.
  • For insurance reasons, drivers must be at least 25 years old and have a good driving record.
  • Must be, or be willing to become, CPR/First Aid Certified
  • Growing relationship with Christ and involvement in a local church
  • Evidence of spiritual maturity, including integrity, humility and self-discipline


  • To be set by the Operations Director, based on guest need.
  • Must be available weekdays from approximately 3:00pm to 8:00pm and occasional weekends.
  • Approximately 15-18 hours per week.
